Shannon & Robby | November 18, 2012 | Lord Hill Farms – Snohomish, WA

This wedding was special to me because the Mother of the Bride and I were childhood friends and it was so much fun to reconnect and have the pleasure and privilege of coordinating Shannon and Robby’s wedding. The Bride and Groom had a definite vision of what they wanted their wedding to be – and it was centered around a vintage theme. A common element throughout all aspects of the wedding was old-fashioned keys, which were incorporated into all their paper collateral, favors, and was even carved into a bench which the Groom handcrafted. Rather than a guestbook, the guests signed this commemorative piece of furniture which they will place in their home to remind them of this special day each time they sit or look at the bench. The Bride, Groom and their families spent months collecting just the right pieces to incorporate into the table centerpieces and misc. décor throughout the barn. They did a FANTASTIC job getting the theme across with all of the props they found!
They chose Lord Hill Farms as their venue, which tied beautifully into their vintage theme. The tables were set with a navy blue linen and a burlap runner. They had hired a band that played Rolling Stones-style music and the dance floor was packed all evening!
Not only did I renew a friendship from my childhood, but I was able to share in the wedding of her daughter! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this very special day!

THANK YOU’S!

Mother of the Bride: Thank you so much for all your help with Shannon & Robby’s wedding!  You made everything so smooth and easy!  Could not have done this without you!!  It was such a beautiful and fun day!!  Thanks again, Lynn

Groom:  We can’t believe that it has already been over three months since our wedding.  It has all been one glorious blur, and now that all the dust has settled and every last picture frame has been filled with wedding and honeymoon pictures, we’re getting to exhale and reflect.  Shannon and I always talk about how we’ll hear a song that was played at our wedding, or we’ll come across a series of photos that we haven’t seen yet, or something random will trigger a memory; and we get flooded again with the amazing feelings that were created on that beautiful evening.  We owe that positively in large part to you.  We sincerely thank you for being the glue that held all of the many parts together that night.  Cheers!

This was another sibling wedding for me. I had the pleasure of coordinating the Groom’s brother’s wedding in 2009. They called me from Hawaii right after he proposed to set up their first consultation! We worked together on this wedding for over a year and I have to say that I had such a great time laughing and brainstorming with this couple as well as the Bride’s Mother.
They were in agreement to have their wedding simple and elegant without being stuffy or too much. They liked open spaces with easy parking. Very important to them was that everyone have a great time partying. There is no question they achieved this requirement! They enjoyed each moment of their special day. A shuttle was hired to take the Bridal Party around town to some unique places for off-site photos before going to the church, then more after the ceremony before the reception! J. Garner and staff did a fabulous job with all the photo shoots, as well as manning a live photobooth during the reception, complete with amazing props, etc.
The Bride and her mom collected numerous items throughout the year to use at the reception which just enhanced the décor tremendously. There were lots of pretty chalkboards with seat assignments and messages beautifully done by a calligrapher. There was plenty of eye-candy there. Custom labeled wine favors were given to all the guests as they left.
The topper of the evening was Dick’s burgers and milkshakes for surprise late-night snacks while the guests were dancing. You can’t go wrong with those! The Bride & Groom left late at night with a sparkler send-off from their guests. It was a long day for them, but worth every minute!

This couple literally looked at every venue in the Seattle area to find just the perfect site for them. Nothing grabbed them until they wandered into Workshop 30 at the former Sandpoint Naval Base. In spite of the dirty windows, cracks in the walls, and industrial-looking ceiling (all of which enhanced the look of the space once we took control of it), they absolutely fell in love with the structural details and wouldn’t hear of going anywhere else. We now had the clean slate that they had been looking for to create their very own wedding! With the help of Rented Elegance, a lighting guru, and all the other vendors who made this wedding magical, this building was totally transformed into an elegant reception site like no other.
Megan and Bryan met in high school, dated 5.5 years, and had talked about getting married for a few years so they had a head start on what they wanted their wedding to be. Once the official planning began, everything fell easily into place. They wanted a formal church wedding and a beautiful reception where everyone had a great time.
I love reveals, and we were able to drape off the dining area so that when guests arrived, they entered into the cocktail area. When dinner was ready, the drapery was pulled back to reveal the beautifully set tables, the candle chandeliers, and the unique seating arrangement. Then we were able to showcase one more reveal as we pulled back the drapery to the dance floor. I love the anticipation of the guests when they see the beauty behind each draped area.
Dick’s burgers were the last surprise of the evening – and well received by the hungry dancers! The bride and groom exited through a sparkler send-off in a Vintage car. As I mentioned earlier, this reception was magical – and I am thrilled to have been a part of it!

THANK YOU’S:

Bride: Having mutual friends, I have known Merry Beth for quite some time and always wanted her to be my wedding planner. When the time finally came I think hiring Merry Beth was the best decision we made throughout the whole process. With our extremely unique venue we could NOT have pulled this off without the help of Merry Beth and her A+++ vendors she recommended. She helped us with every little detail and it really made us feel like we created our own wedding. Our wedding went off without a hitch and she kept us focused (and took away the stress!) throughout the entire planning process. Her ideas were fantastic, and when we walked into the reception I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was even more than I imagined. Many of our friends are still commenting on how that was the best wedding they have ever gone to – and it’s all because of Merry Beth. Merry Beth is the best wedding planner around!

I love it when I am fortunate enough to be hired by the sibling of a former client. In this case, I coordinated the wedding of the Groom’s brother in 2008. The Bride’s background is in design so it was no wonder that she had her vision in place at our first consultation. (She’s also an avid Pinterest gal!) In addition, the Groom’s stepfather owns a printing company so was able to do all the paper collateral – some of the best I have ever seen!

When I asked them what the priority for the wedding was, both the Bride & Groom responded with “fun, fun, fun”. The Groom built a photo booth backdrop (a huge hit!), they had a candy bar, the wedding style was vintage romantic, and what better favor for a Seattle wedding than coffee??

One unusual, but smart thing to do was thought of by this Bride: she wore a cocktail dress for the off-site photos and then changed into her wedding gown once they were back at the hotel. This way, the Groom was able to see the Bride prior to the wedding, but only saw her for the first time in her wedding gown as she was walking down the aisle.

This was such an amazing wedding for an amazing couple. I am grateful that I continue to have incredible clients, but when someone as special as Monica and Bub come into my life, I am blessed!!!

THANK YOU’S!

Bride: I’m still gushing over the wedding!  I wish I could relive that day a million times.  We really want to thank you for all your hard work!!  I think our wedding was AWESOME!!   Hiring you was one of the best decisions we made.  We have heard nothing but great things about our wedding.  We owe it all to the best wedding planner ever!!  XO  Mrs. Bergstrom

I was delighted when I received a call from this Bride as I had coordinated her sister’s wedding in 2006. This is such a wonderful family and I was thrilled to be working with them again. I was also excited because this Bride was very decisive, which always makes my job so much more fun!
The criteria for this wedding was a unique venue, the color purple, and lots of dancing! Well, as you can see by the photo gallery, they got ALL of this (and more!)
During the ceremony, the Bride and Groom participated in a Knot Tying Ceremony. The Best Man handed them a rope which they formed into a knot while the minister spoke about the significance of taking each individual who separately serve a purpose, but together they are a team with a new purpose.
The reception was beautifully designed to fit the feel of the Aquarium. During the mockup of the table design, much attention had been placed on each element that went onto the table and it all came together amazingly well on the wedding day. The beautiful linens, napkins and chairs were also enhanced by all the special up-lighting that filled the Aquarium.
I worked with this couple for over a year and I have to say that I truly miss our times together! What a fantastic bride and groom – and extended families!!

THANK YOU’S!

Mother of the Bride: Thank you Merry Beth! Two wonderful daughters.  Two amazing Merry Beth weddings.  Our home was the setting for our older daughter, Krista’s, wedding.  Merry Beth turned the house and grounds into a lakeside wonderland.  Six years later, our younger daughter, Anna, chose the Seattle Aquarium as the setting for a magnificent evening wedding.   Friends told us that both weddings were the most wonderful they had ever attended.  The common element:  Merry Beth and two very happy brides and grooms!

Cheryl and John Prestek

Bride: Merry Beth has the power to turn your dream wedding into reality! She and her vendors transformed the Seattle Aquarium into a breathtaking and unforgettable backdrop for our evening ceremony and reception. My husband and I have been told repeatedly that our wedding was simply the best event – wedding or otherwise – our guests had ever attended.

It’s difficult to put into words how amazing Merry Beth is to work with. Her attention to detail and professionalism are second to none. She treats the weddings she plans as if they were her own and each client as if they were family. Because of Merry Beth, I got to enjoy our day to the fullest without having to worry about a single detail. I’ll always remember my wedding day as a dream come true!

Thank you Merry Beth!

Daniella and Will | August 18, 2012 | Private Home – Lake Sammamish, WA

I fell in love with this beautiful couple instantly at our initial meeting. They had just moved here from Australia and I loved their story, style, and sincerity.
The Bride & Groom chose a rental home on Lake Sammamish (for a week) to hold their festivities. This would allow them to be onsite for the setup and have all the pre-wedding activities at the house. They could manage the vendor setups, party all night, hot tub and just walk up a flight of stairs to their bedroom, and then spend the next few days visiting with their families, attendants, and guests while enjoying boating, waterskiing, and swimming.
This bride had a vision of how she wanted her wedding to unfold, was very clear in explaining the details so that we could pick up the ball and run with it knowing that we were doing exactly as Daniella had envisioned, and she had exquisite taste so everything went together beautifully.
August is a pretty safe month in Seattle to plan outdoor activities and we were fortunate enough with the weather to enjoy a very laid back, romantic evening. We placed a tent on the cement pad by the water’s edge and set it for the ceremony. All the guests then went to the upper lawn for the cocktail hour while the tent was reset for dinner. Once all the guests had found their seats for dinner, the Bridal Party arrived via a boat, walked up the dock and joined their guests! How’s that for a Grand Entrance??? After dinner, the guests were asked to find their way to another area of the lawn for toasts and cake cutting while the tent was turned again for dancing. The guests seemed excited to leave the tent for the various activities so they could come back and see how the tent had been recreated.
The guests enjoyed dancing next to the lake, s’mores at the fire pit and an espresso bar! A great time was had by all! What a gorgeous couple and a gorgeous wedding!!!

Katie & Ramon | July 29, 2012 | Four Seasons – Seattle, WA

This Bride was one of those overzealous brides who was attending graduate school while planning her wedding! To ease some of her stress, the Mother of the Groom decided that she needed some relief and hired me six weeks before the wedding to fill in some of the gaps and be there to orchestrate the wedding day. I was so impressed with the Groom’s mother for being so astute and taking care of her soon to be daughter-in-law! Thank you!
The Bride moved to Thailand and the Groom went to Bangkok for their first date. He proposed a year later. Their proposal was one of the best proposals of all time!!!!
Where better to have a wedding than at the Four Seasons Hotel? With only a short time frame to pull everything together, the vendors kicked it into high gear and executed the best wedding ever! It’s always amazing to me what great vendors I have the privilege of working with – and once again they proved their professionalism.
In addition to everything else that was on her plate, the Bride took the time to make the cranes which depicted her culture and they gave as favors. Between the Bride, the vendors, and the Groom’s mother (whom I affectionately called Mrs. America), this wedding turned out to be one of my favorites.

This was a special wedding for me to coordinate because the Bride and Groom both work at the school my daughter attends – she as a teacher, he as a technician. Someday maybe my daughter will be in her class and we can once again reminisce about this gorgeous wedding!
The colors for this wedding were red, black, and white. The Bride LOVES polka dots so we made sure to incorporate those in the linens and umbrellas (and anywhere else we could)! A lot of time was spent on getting the décor and “look” just right. The tent was transformed both for the ceremony and the reception!

A couple of things that were unusual to me at this wedding were that about 40 percent of the guests were children (maybe not so unusual in that she IS a teacher!), and they only had family at the wedding and it totaled 100 guests!!! How fun! The Bride and Groom ate their dinner during the cocktail hour so that they could spend a significant amount of time talking with each guest during the dinner hour.
Everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful view and the wonderful evening from the tent and the patio at Newcastle.

THANK YOU’S!

Mother of the Bride:  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! It was a beautiful wedding and your help was invaluable. It was fun to get to know you. Thanks, Janet

The wedding of Kathryn and Greg at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland

She works at Boeing. He works at Microsoft. They are robotics judges. That being said, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Groom made a robot which he named “Tiffany” and used it to carry the ring during his proposal to Kate. Is it any shock that Tiffany was the ring bearer in the ceremony delivering the rings to the Officiant? How awesome is that??? The guests went crazy!
All that being said, I LOVED working with this couple! They were so much fun to be around and always made our consultations enjoyable. At the same time, we actually did plan their wedding! They both moved to Seattle in 2006 – he from Canada and she from California.
This Couple had so many fun things planned for this wedding day – some of which only had significance to each other. For instance, Katy had a blue feather incorporated into her bouquet for Greg, the Bride made picture frames for photos she wanted to display, the table numbers were random numbers with meaning to them (a description of why that number held meaning was written under the Table number), special Groom’s cake which was a secret for Greg, special lighting so that the tent looked like a forest, flowers and chocolates tucked into the napkin fold – and on and on.
An Espresso station and late night snacks ended the evening. What an incredibly wonderful day!!
In addition to all they did to ensure an awesome wedding day, they treated their out-of-town guests to an evening at Lucky Strike after the rehearsal and a Guided Tour of the Boeing Everett Plant the day after the wedding! Does it get any better than that?
You two are the best!!

THANK YOU’S!

Bride and Groom:

We were delighted to work with Merry Beth to plan our Summer 2012 wedding.  She consistently amazed us with her supreme talent, taste, and organization. The essence of her value is her ability to plan and run spectacular weddings that are remarkably stress-free for both Bride & Groom. It was a delight to work with Merry Beth on a regular basis, and by wedding day we had such great confidence in her and the plan, that we were able to stay focused on enjoying the best day of our lives.

Merry Beth won our business by immediately embracing the quirky attributes of us and our story — two engineers, with a robotic marriage proposal — and encouraging us to embrace our uniqueness in all aspects of our wedding. She sat down with us regularly to elicit opinions and help us craft the master plan, consistently setting expectations about what work should be done to stay on track.  Merry Beth’s relationships with top-notch vendors were especially valuable, particularly because they all seemed so delighted to work with her and showed such confidence in her abilities. She helped us personalize so many details of our wedding and ultimately it was the sum of these details that made the event so special. We set out to plan a nice wedding, but the end-result actually exceeded our expectations; It was a beautiful, perfect day — wholly unique to us — and we could not have done it without Merry Beth’s expertise!

This happened to be the 2nd wedding I did for this family.  I coordinated the bride’s sisters’ wedding in 2009.  How fun to have repeat business with the same families!!!  This couple had known each other since they were 18 years old and were absolutely ready to get married!   Amid all the wedding planning, the Bride finished medical school on the East Coast!  This has to be one of my sweetest couples of all time!  It was an absolute pleasure working with them.

Since this was a late afternoon wedding, the Bridal Party was able to leisurely start their day.  After having brunch and having hair and makeup done, photos began.  As you can imagine, the Fairmont Hotel staff did an outstanding job of working with us to incorporate all the elements of this wedding.  There were lots of family and friends to witness the signing of the Ketubah just prior to the ceremony.

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was the inclusion of their families in unique places during the reception.  Both Fathers gave Blessings and the Bride and Groom had toasts made to them by  their respective siblings.  I think everyone had fun dancing the horah as well.

Michael Benson did his usual awesome job of providing wonderful background and dance music throughout the evening.  In fact, I think he even went a little above and beyond at this one – he and his band are truly amazing!!!  This family loves a good party – and that is exactly what they got!!

THANK YOU’S!

Mother of the Bride: The wedding was beautiful and everything was done to perfection thanks to you.  Every one of our vendors was super.  We received so many lovely comments and notes and I know it all came together because you made it happen.  I have told everyone how absolutely wonderful you are!!  Anyone who has your help with their wedding is so very lucky.  We have one more daughter so hopefully we will work together again in the not too distant future.  All the best to you.  With profound appreciation.  - Marcy

We are so lucky in Seattle to have such awesome wedding venues — and one of my favorite venues is the Seattle Aquarium.  Then my clients hired the best vendors so I knew this would be a fabulous wedding.  But the thing that brought tears to my eyes was the Wedding Poem composed by the Groom’s brother for his brother and his bride!

The day started with brunch at Hotel 1000 while leisurely having the ladies’ hair and makeup done.  From there, the wedding party and families were shuttled for off-site photos to the Seattle Library (the bride is an elementary school principal), Olympic Sculpture Park, Kerry Park, the train tracks, and then off to the Aquarium.

This was such an incredible couple to work with.  I loved their choice of colors and how they integrated them into the ceremony and reception.  The thoughtful touches they made by allowing time during the cocktail hour for their guests to participate in the feeding of the Otters was a highlight to the “little” guests (as well as their parents!).

This couple was very much an out-of-the-box bride and groom.  One area where this was evident was in choosing their reception menu.  Instead of a buffet or plated meal, they selected an option of various stations – showing their guests that they had a flair for all kinds of foods and the fact that they wanted their guests to enjoy the meal by selecting the foods they preferred to eat.

Dancing was lively and a very important part of the evening.

I say this often, but I am really a very lucky person to be able to work with such wonderful people!!

THANK YOU’S!

Bride and Groom:  We are still raving about you!  Our wedding was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations.  I truly don’t know how to express my gratitude for all that you did to help hire the absolute best vendors and make our wedding day so easy for us.  There is not one part of the day we would change except to slow it down.  My Dad has mentioned several times how amazing you were in taking care of every detail.  Often I thought of what my wedding might  be and I never thought it would include a wedding planner.  Now I’m recommending you to friends who aren’t even getting married!  Not only are you amazing at what you do, but you are a wonderful person!  We never could have pulled off our dream party without you.  Thank you so much for everything!

Parents of the Groom:  You are a magician – and a very hard working one at that!  The wedding was perfect, and we thank you so much for all your planning and work.  As you probably noticed, our entire family enjoyed every minute.  They do know how to appreciate a good party.  Thank you for a perfect beginning to Christy and Jay’s life together which, as Joe said in his toast, we hope will be as happy as ours has been.

Karli & Taylor | March 25, 2012 | First Lutheran Church, Tacoma, WA

What a joy it was to be able to do my niece’s wedding to the love of her life (whom she has known most of her life!) They chose a beautiful church in Tacoma for their special day. When I asked them what they wanted to do, they said they wanted a classy dessert buffet, a candy “bar” and an espresso cart – perfect for a “Sweet” Sunday afternoon reception!

They wanted to jazz up the look of the church basement so we brought in pipe and drape and went around the entire perimeter of the room and draped all the doorways and column dividers. We had specialty linens and table runners that complimented our “sweet” stations and bistro tables. The room was completely transformed!!! The church said they had never seen anything like it. The Bride & Groom had a “sweetheart” table for 2 that we put on top of the stage and their Bridal Party sat directly below them – perfect for the toasting.

The Mother of the Bride (and a few friends) made ALL of the desserts and punch that were served, my calligrapher hand-wrote all of the desserts that were served on the double-sided 16’ buffet table on a 9’ chalkboard, we had an espresso cart with another chalkboard written with some “lattes of love”, a candy “bar” filled with candy in their wedding colors, a slide show of the Bride & Groom growing up, a DJ and pianist played background music and sang during the reception, and there was a sparkler send-off at the end. They were driven off in a Rolls Royce able to reflect on the festivities of the day and ready to start their new life together.

THANK YOU’S!

Bride & Groom: Thank you for all of your hard work, love and support! We LOVE you so much and could not have made this day happen so perfectly without you! Love, Karli & Taylor

Father of the Bride: Thanks for all your insight and help making Karli, Taylor, Ursula and my experience, a wonderful and easy time because of your help and contacts. We are grateful for your love for our kids and your gift of service. Love, Erin

Mother of the Bride: Thanks so much! We definitely could not have done this without you. You are very appreciated! Love, Ursula
