Lisa and Don

Lisa and Don | September 7, 2007 | Woodmark Hotel

[Click To View Gallery] — It isn’t often that we can carry on a family tradition to the day.  But such was the case with Lisa and Don when they purposely chose September 7 as their wedding day – the same date 73 years ago when her grandparents were married and 103 years ago when her great grandparents were married.  Wow!

The day was sunny and glorious as the vendors began arriving at 6:00 a.m. to transform the tent and ballroom at the Woodmark Hotel into a champagne-colored dream.  The florist added pops of color to enhance the look and a hand-painted aisle runner put the finishing touch on the ceremony décor.

The ceremony was stunning – but only piqued the guests interest for what was coming during the reception!  Appetizers and a signature drink were passed to the guests on the lawn while the string quartet played background music.  The bride and groom released doves during the cocktail hour in memory of her father.  Once the guests moved back into the tent for dinner, the comments heard over and over were “exquisite,” “breathtaking,” and “stunning.”

Lobster bisque was served as the first course with the initials of the bride and groom piped onto the soup.  Next came the sorbet on an individual ice sculpture leaf.   At the conclusion of the meal service, the guests were invited out onto the lawn to watch a fireworks show.

The evening ended with favors placed in the hallway of the ballroom.  The bride and groom had hand-picked their favorite songs and had them burned onto a CD, and the guests were also given a Godiva chocolate cake.

The touches that Lisa and Don incorporated into their wedding were what made the guests feel a part of the wedding.    Each minute detail was significant in some way to either Lisa or Don.  I was honored to be a part of this very meaningful day.

“Wow!!! You are wonderful, fun, and creative.  You made our day the best ever!  I had a fantastic time working with you.  Thank you so very much for making all of the timing of our events go so smoothly.  To the wedding coordinator of the year – all our love.” — Lisa, Bride
