[Click to View Gallery] – Occasionally, we are hired to coordinate a wedding that sounds like a routine wedding but turns into so much more.  This couple was attending graduate school at Harvard so their lives were extremely busy before taking on the challenges of planning a destination wedding.  Initially, they were thinking of just the traditional elements for their wedding.  Determining the location for the wedding took a while, but they chose the one and only Benaroya Hall!

The outcome to this wedding was anything routine or traditional.  There was an opera singer during the ceremony, lion dancers during the reception, plus the Horah Dance, and late night snacks.

The wedding was beautiful with a floral Huppah decorated in hues of gold, fuschia, orange, and navy.  Hearing operatic music instead of the traditional classical music was such a treat and surprise for the guests.  The Huppah holders (all family) did an outstanding job of moving the Huppah.  A nice touch was having the fathers hold the rings instead of the bestman.  The groom’s grandmother read a Psalm in addition to seven of the bride’s and groom’s friends reading blessings.

After the ceremony, all guests gathered on the Promenade for the cocktail hour while the bride and groom took a few minutes alone together.  At the end of Yichud, the bride and groom emerged and led the guests down the stairs.  Guests found their seat assignments, were seated, and then were entertained by the Lion Dancers.  The four-course meal was served intermixed with the Lion Dancers and family toasts.  The DJ provided a great mix of music and the dance floor was packed all evening – begging him to continue the party at the end of the contracted time.  Late night snacks of vegetable crudités, sliders, French fries, assorted cookies and brownie chunks were a huge hit to end the party.
